San Francisco Theological Seminary

Celebrating 150 Years of Theological Education!

Spirituality, social justice, innovation

At San Francisco Theological Seminary we believe that religion—and specifically Christian faith—should inspire each of us to be a positive force for good in the world. It should show us the way to make the world a better place, not just for some, but for everyone. We are celebrating 150 years of theological education! Founded in 1871 and affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), SFTS values dialogue and engagement with other religions and faith traditions.

“I enrolled at SFTS to explore what it looks like to create new, experimental, inclusive, open-minded communities of faith in our fast-changing world…and participate in the incredibly unique, groundbreaking, spiritual, and activist communities that this one-of-a-kind city offers.”
